The “Sapporo White Illumination,” which began in 1981 as Japan’s first illumination event, will celebrate its 43rd edition this year. It will start from November 22 at five venues including Odori Park and Ekimae-dori. The entire venue will be adorned with approximately 750,000 LED bulbs, about 10,000 more than last year, adding a romantic touch to Sapporo’s winter.

The “SENDIA Pageant of Light”, which represents the winter of Sendai, is celebrating its 38th time this year. About 500,000 LED bulbs are installed on 129 Zelkova trees on Jozenji Street, and their warm orange light envelops the street. The 2023 SENDAI Pageant of Light will be held under the theme of “Sparkle of Gratitude”! Please take a trip to this beautiful dream world once a year.

In the warm city lights of Keyaki Slope, which stretches for about 400m, the fantastical scene of “SNOW&BLUE” light welcomes you. Please enjoy the Christmas unique to Roppongi Hills, which you can only encounter at that time and moment.

This year’s Laguna Ten Bosch illumination will unfold a grand world story for visitors in three areas: “sea,” “land,” and “sky,” with the keyword “light of life.” Additionally, limited-time fireworks, fountain shows, and video effects will collaborate with show casts to color the winter night sky at Laguna Ten Bosch.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the “Nabana-no-sato Illumination” will be held under the theme of “The Golden Pyramid. Three stories of the Pyramids of Gold, the prosperity of the Nile, and Egyptian mythology will be dynamically staged with light and sound in a setting of the Pyramids of Egypt. Please enjoy a romantic and wonderful evening, perfect for this season.

A large-scale illumination that envelops Midosuji, Osaka’s symbolic street, in gentle light. This year, in addition to the gingko tree illumination that allows you to feel the beauty of Midosuji, you can also enjoy landmark lasers and projection mapping.

“An event adorned with the world’s largest 13 million light bulbs. The theme park itself shines, transforming into a “”Kingdom of Light.”” Don’t miss the chance to experience events that are only available during this period! As dusk falls, Huis Ten Bosch transforms into a “”Kingdom of Light.”” Explore the illuminated European streets and the changing illuminations that correspond to the seasons. The “Yukari” illumination, which began in the winter of 2012, is now in its 12th year. Approximately 300 spherical “maru-toro” and cylindrical “tsutsu-toro” lanterns, about 2 meters high, are arranged to blend into the natural landscape and will be lit from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This year, the “Kawabata Street” from Maruzuru Bridge to Yamabiko Ryokan will be illuminated. Enjoy the Yukari while strolling along Kawabata Street.
