Hutte Birke is located in the mountains. We were not there to ski, but to visit the nearby famous Onsens and Kakunodate. It is a bit complicated to find your way there but once you have cleared this out with the bus driver it is easy since the bus stop is

Hutte Birke is a fantastic place to stay at Tazawako. You literally become part of the family. Home cooked meals are amazing and it's a short walk to the ski hill.

Private bath.Very steep stairs for 3rd floor room. Host and hostess were exceptional friendly and accommodating. They hep]lped us make the best use of out time during the stay. Bus fro tazawako station to shi-jo bus stop was convenient. Bus and or shuttle
