beautiful & quiet ryokan with fantastic service from Mako-san. It was a very relaxing stay--much needed from the busy cities we have been visiting. Food was phenomenal both for dinner and breakfast. The rooms were a bit warm but the windows caught a nice

We had an excellent stay at Washintei! Loved every aspect, and our only regret is we didn't stay longer. The private bath was lovely (you pay extra for this), the traditional japanese food served was first class, and all the staff were helpful and friendly

They provide excellent SPA and great Kaiseki cuisine, absolutely beautiful and delicious. The view in this hotel is wonderful. We can take a whole look of Lake Ashi from our room. Some staff can speak fluent English, but even those who can not are willing
