This is a Japanese-style ryokan that provides such heart-touching service, it feels like you’re returning home.
As the lodging is just 3 minutes on foot from JR Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, it is also a convenient location as a base for sightseeing around Shirakawago.
It is 10 minutes on foot to Takayama’s historic Old Town along Sanmachi-dori, Takayama Jinya, and the Miyagawa Morning Market. It is 20 minutes on foot to the Higashiyama Walking Course where guests can tour around cultural properties of Takayama.
A Japanese garden can be seen from Japanese-style guestrooms.

Perfect stay at Iroha Ryokan. The host is very nice, very welcoming. It was a great pleasure to sleep at this ryokan.

It is like it looks, authentic and traditional. Lady boss is the same. We arrived early and got into the ryokan however couldn’t find anyone. Went for coffe and back again after 30min and finally managed to find lady boss. I don’t have any complaints bu
