Great location in that it has excellent views of surrounding mountains. Easy to get to with a rental car (not sure about public transport). We got a room with a private open-air bath. The private bath was large enough for two people to sit in and it was pl

It was great. I've stayed in higher-end onsen hotel and ryokan. But the service was Japanese formal combined with wanting to be friendly and accommodating to western guests. Some employees such as the woman who carried our bags, seemed to enjoy practicing

Booked the room with open bath and mountain view. A bit more expensive but the room was very comfortable. Counter service can be improved as the young manager did not share with us much about the surrounding area, and did not give us the discount coupons

We stay one night after the ropeway ride, the cable center just next to the hotel so as the bus station from Takayama. The hotel and room are clean, the staff are very helpful and friendly. The outdoor hot spring can see mountain.
