Houshi

- Founded in 718, continuing for 46 generations from 1,300 years ago, this is Hokuriku’s oldest Japanese-style hot spring ryokan.
- In the past, it has even been registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as a hot spring ryokan with the oldest history in the world.

- To express their gratitude and happiness for guests’ stay, ryokan staff will serve guests matcha green tea and tea cakes.

- The hot spring is a clear and colorless sodium sulfate spring. The spring water is also good for drinking.
- Both the men’s and women’s large communal baths have open-air baths.
- In the open-air baths, guests can also enjoy the natural scenery as its appearance changes via the seasons and weather.
- The large communal baths are equipped with shampoo, hair rinse, conditioner, and face shaving foam.
- The men’s dressing room is equipped with hair dryers, cotton swabs, combs, skin gel, razors, hair mousse, hair tonic, hair liquid, and hair-styling water.
- The women’s dressing room is equipped with hair dryers, cotton swabs, combs, hand mirrors, shower caps, and skin care products (cleansing items, face lotion, all-in-one gels).
- The ryokan also has 2 private baths. (Reservations taken after check-in at the front desk, on a first come, first served basis. Advance reservation cannot be done by phone, email, etc.)

- Guestrooms are located in 4 connected wings that surround a Japanese garden.
- In the spacious garden, guests can enjoy the four seasons of Japan with colored leaves in the fall, winter scenery, cherry blossoms in the spring, and cool clear streams in the summer.

- For cuisine, guests can savor kaiseki course meals prepared with natural bounties from the ocean, mountains, countryside, and rivers in the Hokuriku and Kaga regions.
- Hot dishes are served while they are still hot, and cold dishes are served cold.

- From Kanazawa, it is about 30 minutes by train. From Komatsu Airport, it is about 25 minutes by car, making for a very convenient location.
