This hotel in Nikko boasts an open-air bath, the source of which has been found in 1666, with the Yunishi River flowing right by. The building is registered as a historical monument. Guests can experience how it's like to stay in a traditional Japanese private residence built long ago. The interior part of the building is built along the river, made with choice wood and earthen walls. Japanese-style guestrooms are furnished with futon and equipped with flat-screen TVs. Guests can choose from 5 hot springs, and enjoy local cuisine for dinner. Rooms equipped with air-conditioning units have paper-sliding doors and tatami mats, adding a Zen atmosphere. A lush, refreshing scenery can be seen from the guestrooms. There are also yukata and private toilets. Some rooms have private baths. For meals, guests will cross a Kazura-bashi (hanging rope bridge) to get to the dining hall to enjoy charcoal-grilled irori cuisine. Requests for private rooms or seats are accepted.
