WeSpa Tsubakiyama
This hilltop amusement resort overlooks the beautiful Sea of Japan, surrounded by the World Heritage Shirakami Mountains. Enjoy the panoramic view of the Sea of Japan from the observatory deck. How to get there?
From Shin-Aomori Station (JR Tohoku Shinkansen): Take the JR Resort Shirakami train to WeSpa-Tsubakiyama Station (about 166 minutes). Immediate access from there.
By car: Exit the Akita Expressway at Noshiro-minami IC and continue along Route 7 for about 5 minutes (2 km), then Route 101 for about 60 minutes (59 km). Look for WeSpa Tsubakiyama signs.
Lamp no Yado Aoni Onsen
This is a solitary two-story wooden building, lit up by lanterns and located in a valley. There are baths for men and women (separate bathing) in the main building and open-air baths in the outside space.
How to get there?
From Aomori Airport: Take the bus bound for Hirosaki and get off at Hirosaki Bus Terminal (about 55 minutes). Then take the bus to Kuroishi (about 45 minutes). Then take the bus bound for Nurukawa and get off at Niji-no-Ko Koen (about 35 minutes). About 15 minutes by taxi from there.
By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Kuroishi IC and continue along Route 102 for about 30 minutes (18 km).
Mutsu Grand Hotel
The Mutsu Grand Hotel is located in the eastern part of Mutsu, and has a full view of the surrounding scenery. The hotel's annex also offers bathing facilities, complete with an open-air bath and sauna.

From Shimokita Station (JR Ominato Line): About 8 minutes by taxi.
By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Shimoda-Momoishi IC and continue along Route 279 for about 110 minutes towards Mutsu Kasamaikan.
Makado Sightseeing Hotel
Located upland at the foot of a mountain, this hotel features a layout that enables all guest rooms to face beautiful Mutsu Bay and the Shimokita Peninsula. From Shichinohe-Towada Station (JR Tohoku Shinkansen Line): Take the Towada Kanko Bus bound for Towada-shi and get off at Towada-shi Chuo Bus stop (about 30 minutes). The hotel is about 5 minutes by foot or a quick taxi ride from there.

By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Kuroishi IC and continue along Route 102, then Routes 394 and 103. About 5 minutes on foot from the Yachi Onsen Bus Stop.

From Aomori Airport: Take a bus bound for Aomori Station for about 35 min. Get off at Aomori Station and it is about 1 min on foot from there.
By car: About 5 km (about 15 min) from the Tohoku Expressway Aomori-chuo IC via National Route 7, Prefectural Route 120 and National Route 4.
Ryokan Kawanosou
As befitting a ryokan, all rooms are designed in a traditional Japanese style. The dinner served at this hotel is particularly popular. This ryokan's unique location on the Shimokita Peninsula means they can boast the freshest ingredients from both land and sea.
How to get there?
From Tokyo Station: Take the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Hachinohei Station. From Hachinohei Station, take the limited Expressway train to Noheji Station. Then take the Ominato Line to Shimokita Station. The hotel is about 5 minutes by taxi fro the station. (The entire trip takes approximately four hours.)
By car: Take the Tokaido Expressway to the Ashiro Junction and merge onto the Hachinohei Expressway. At the Hachinohei Junction, transfer to the Shiroishi Road, and merge onto Route 388 at the Shimoda Shiroishi IC.
Dormy Inn Honhachinohe

Yamano Hotel
This hotel set at the foot of Mt. Iwaki showcases traditional architecture in black and white tones.
