We loved our stay at Nikko Tokanso: lovely hosts, very generous. Futon were the best I've slept on, and the food was superb! We visited in winter, which is not prime tourist season in Nikko, but we still had a wonderful time!!

Interesting hotel - check about a shuttle bus from the station, although the World Heritage bus stops very close and is cheap. The food was very good, but the hotel needs a bit of work - just paint and freshening up, but it would turn this from okay to gr
