The diner is the highlight of the stay , as was the location of the ryokan and the attention of the service ; unfortunately the rooms are very oldish and the Onsen ordinary, cant have everything !

Amazing location on the steps to the Kompira-San. Charming but dated lobby area and bathrooms but Japanese style room spacious and clean. Super friendly, helpful, welcoming staff/owners. They even drove into town to escort us back to their ryokan--definite

I can't say enough positive things about this ryokan! You can get to within about 150 feet of it by taxi, but after that you will need to carry your luggage down about 10 fairly steep stone steps. Everything else about this place is a breeze. It is VERY FA

We spent one night with our 3 kids in Toramaru ryokan. The location is great, on the way to the shrine. The food was amazing and the service, perfect. Very quiet place.
