I(42) went with my father (68). It's not real Ryokan but similar traditional inn, a little big and moden style mixed hotel. It was great time on staying, especially close to station/main street/restaurant all covenience. I would like suggest this

“由布院の宿”
由布院ことぶき花の庄は、旅館としてはとても良いと思いましたが、従業員の数が少なく、部屋への案内もなく、食事処の接待係も外国人スタッフ２名のみで、日本語も通じないことがあり困りました。ロケ－ションや室内露天風呂はとても良いと思いました。
