金鱗湖の朝霧がこの時期とても幽玄で湯布院を訪れる人も多く、それを覚悟で行ったのですが、宿の駐車場に入るまでの人の波にいささか辟易しました。でも宿に入ると一転、組子細工の調度品に囲まれ木のあたたかさに包みこまれるようでした。お部屋の雰囲気も自分のお部屋という感じで旅館独特の日本のお部屋という感じではありません。夕飯は和の繊細さを感じることができるお料理ばかりでイタリアでも修行された料理長とお聞きしてびっくりです。

露天風呂付き部屋ではなかったが十分満足。部屋の設えが素晴らしい。 食事（懐石料理）手が込んでいて見た目も味も良かった。

館内に一歩入った途端、私の頭の中にはゴタイゴの歌のオープニングが鳴り響きました。ロビーから続く廊下は、水戸岡氏のデザインで 豪華列車に乗った様な気持ちになりました。お部屋も素敵で、其処此処に煩い程のコンセプトが感じられるのですが、それが品良く配されていて、居心地の好い空間となっています。 定評ある食事にも丁寧さと素材を活かす工夫が施され とても美味しく頂戴しました。（前泊は二食付きでしたので。）寒かったので、露天風呂は残念でしたが、貸し切りの家族風呂は清潔でゆったりと極上の温泉を堪能出来ました。 また来るね、と言ってもらいたいと云う お宿の心遣いが嬉しかったです。

待合室や通路は天井が低く木造造りで落ち着きます。部屋はとても広く綺麗で、加湿器付。夕食は部屋食、朝食会場は個室でした。お料理は食材にこだわりがあり、本当に美味しかったです。量もないので丁度良い。お風呂や客室露天は落ち着いて入れます。アメニティ等は普通でした。離れなので、他の宿泊者の目が気にならない。誕生日旅行という事もあって、ケーキやプレゼントを用意して頂き感動しました。落ち着いて旅行を楽しめたので満足しています。

皆さんの口コミ通り、お料理が素晴らしかったです。一品ひとしなに驚きがあり、料理長の気持ちが込められているのを感じました。特に百合根と餅米の組み合わせは絶品でした。お部屋については、煙草の匂いが取れていないのが残念でした。

３泊４日九州旅行の最終日宿泊。中国・韓国からの旅行者が道一杯に広がり旅館に到着するまでの間イライラしましたが部屋に案内されるとイライラは直ぐに吹き飛びました。清潔な和室は炬燵とエアコンで温ったか、別室に移ると二人入っても充分な露天風呂、無色透明の浴槽に映る樹木が風情あり。早速ワインを用意してジャブン、その時雪がチラチラ雪見酒を堪能。夜は会席料理「春寒」、凝った料理はそれぞれ美味しく戴いたのですが最後はギブアップ残念。朝食も美味しく普段一膳しか食べないのに２杯も食べてしまいました。１１時チェックアウトでしたが、朝５時過ぎから降り始めた雪のため早々に旅立ち残念。次の機会に期待。そうそう宿泊した日が我々の３０回結婚記念日、プレゼントを戴き有り難うございました。帰りの車の中でお風呂が良かった、あの料理は美味しかった等々福岡空港に到着するまで「草庵秋桜」さんの話がつきませんでした。

還暦祝いで家族５人で泊まりました。露天風呂は５回くらい入りました。食事も個室でゆっくり取ることができました。旅館の人たちはとても控えめで家に居るようにくつろぎました。また、来年も行きたい旅館です。

料理自慢の宿だけに特に夕食は満足しました。朝食はあまり工夫のなかった内容だったのは残念ですが。全体的に満足できましたが、一つだけ不満というか納得できなかったのは、会計時に入浴税はともかく消費税までカードではなく現金で払うように要求されたことです。いろんな所に泊まりましたが初めての経験でした。特別な理由があるのでしょうか。そういう手間もあって、急いでいるときに会計に時間がかかったのが不満です。最後の最後にマイナスポイント大になってしまいました。

主人と新婚旅行以来の２人旅でした。料理は評判以上に大満足、創作料理の美しさにうっとり、どれも大変おいしく思わず料理長のお名前を聞きました。立地に関しても金鱗湖に近く、見事な紅葉を満喫。なによりも、翌日の旅の相談にも親切のっていただき大変感謝しています。「次もこの旅館にしようね。」と主人と話しております。素敵な旅になりました。ありがとうございました。

本館の宿泊客は男性浴室と２つある家族風呂を自由に利用でき、いつでもゆっくり入浴できた。食事は個室食事処でグループだけでくつろいだ雰囲気で美味しい食事とワインや地ビールを楽しめた。料理自慢の宿だけあってその名にふさわしい料理だった。

Feels like home! Amazing dinner and breakfast! Very attentive and courteous staff, high privacy yet in close proximity to all attractions. Room with private onsen worths all the penny. Highly recommended!
