Standing at 1,500 meters on the side of Mt. Azumaya -- one of Japan's 100 famous mountains -- this hotel offers a quintessential mountain view, particularly from its above-the-clouds open-air baths and panoramic restaurant. Access from Tokyo via Shinkansen takes just 1 hour 15 minutes. Shinshu cuisine is prepared with the tastes of the season. Ueda castle from the Warring States period can be visited at the base of the mountain, and the Sugadaira Highlands wrap around the back of this hotel.

    Far from the madding crowd, a place to unwind and distress. The staff were of great help & also arrange, without charge for a 'walking trip' around its vicinity explaining all the various tress/bushes/vines & birds/creatures/animals that lurk around during
