Very conveniently located in the center of Sakata”

We stayed at this ryokan on an overnight stay with no meal. I had always wanted to try this ryokan. It was my first time in Sakata in a long time, and I considered staying at a business hotel, but there was no difference in price, so I highly recommend this ryokan. The room itself is not large, but it is enough to stay there. I gave it 4 stars because I did not use the large bath and meals. We ate outside, but would definitely like to eat at a ryokan next time. I wanted to try Sakata Ramen and there is a restaurant a few minutes walk away that opens at 7 am. It was my first time to try ramen for breakfast, and it was great. I would like to use this hotel again when I visit Sakata.

    Exceptional”

We had a very pleasant stay in Wakaba Ryokan. The room for 2 was perhaps a bit small but very tidy and beautifully decorated. The futons were good and clean. The onsen is really good with plenty of room and plenty of soap and shampoo to choose from. Breakf

Overall the service is really great for my 1st time stay in Japanese style hotel. There are the flaw for the laundry and DCC payment, and the manager try his best to solve.

Charming family-run ryokan in a convenient location. Easy access to the sights in the region (Mt. Haguro) by train and those within Sakata (Kaikou-ji temple, historical rice warehouses, fish pier) by walking. Facilities include clean Japanese style rooms a

An excellent place to relax and enjoy delicous food. The service was outstanding and went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. The host is fluent in English and most helpful. The dinner was a memorable experience with excellent local seafood.
