Completely renovated in July 2003, this inn features three types of “maisonnette”-style rooms (each with its own hot spring spa), rotenburo (open-air baths), a restaurant with private rooms, and an exhibit of historical materials related to Shuhei Fujisawa, a famous writer of historical fiction who was born in Tsuruoka.

It's wonderful to see the attention to detail hidden everywhere so casually. Thank you for your help.

The only negative - it's not easy to get to Kuhe Ryokan by public transport especially when Japanese is not your native language (we rented a car). Otherwise, this was one of the best ryokan experience in Japan. Cuisine, atmosphere, staff, everything was

“satisfaction”
Although it was a small inn, I was satisfied with the hospitality, room, bath, and meals. I was especially satisfied with the breakfast, which was freshly prepared with vegetable juice and tofu. I would like to stay here again.
