This is a quiet lodging that emphasizes privacy with a total of only 12 guestrooms, all of which include an authentic open-air rock bath and an indoor cypress bath. The ryokan features nostalgic architecture and an interior unique to the Hida region, while incorporating the natural beauty of the Okuhida region through the seasons. - Guestrooms
The privacy-focused guestrooms feature an approximately 7.4 square meter hori-gotatsu (sunken kotatsu table) area and approximately 16.5 square meter Japanese-style room, as well as an open-air bath and an indoor bath made of cypress. All rooms share the same floor plan. All guestrooms include a refreshing open-air rock bath and an indoor bath made of cypress. The outdoor baths for all guestrooms guarantee complete privacy, so guests can bathe whenever they like, day or night.
- Meals
For dinner, guests are served an abundance of seasonally changing mountain delights next to an irori hearth. Guests will be served a kaiseki course meal featuring a wealth of local ingredients.
Hidaji provides simple, traditional cuisine with warm service, so though the meal may not appear especially extravagant, guests are served regional Hida cuisine that has been handed down through the generations.

Hidaji has 2 open-air baths located by the riverside.
1. Open-air bath (usage alternated by gender): Bathing hours from 14:00 to 21:30
2. Private Open-air Bath: Bathing hours are from 21:30 to 10:00 the following day
