      “traditional style of Japanese architecture with a steep thatched roof”

      I had always wanted to stay at a gassho-zukuri inn, so I was very excited. When we arrived in Gokayama, the village was as beautiful as in a fairy tale. Goyomon's mother was very cheerful, the food was delicious, and each room was heated and very comfortable. The char grilled on the hearth was very tasty.
