This hotel is in the center of the city and around 8 minutes on foot from the Shimanto River, making it a perfect base for sightseeing around the area. The restaurant serves elegant Japanese Kaiseki dishes full of local delights.

This was my first visit to Shimanto. There were not many choices, but I chose the one with a bath, and I am glad I did. If I ever come back, I would like to stay at the same hotel again.

The rates were reasonable and the facilities were fine. The only disappointment was the breakfast. We were just in the middle of a group, but there were only two hall staff. The salads were empty, the coffee cups were not refilled, and unfortunately, we could not drink or eat what we wanted when we wanted due to the tea pong and the juice server's power failure. The breakfast price was very inexpensive, which was surprising but disappointing. The female staff was courteous and did their best, but the male staff did not smile at all, which was also disappointing. I thought this was the best hotel in Shimanto City, so my expectations were too high.

The breakfast buffet is GOOD. The hotel has a spacious reception area and the front desk service of the staff is excellent. I was a little disappointed that I could have used the public baths if they would have given more thought to the hours of use. Overall, a very nice place to stay.

I had previously visited by car, but this time I took the train. It took about 30 minutes to walk from the station, arriving around 8 pm. We did not know that restaurants were closed until 20:00 due to the prevention of the spread of corona infection, and our guess for dinner was off. There were convenience stores and supermarkets in the immediate vicinity, so we managed to escape the difficulty.

“Smoking rooms smell heavily of cigarettes.”
It is built like a public building, like a museum or cultural center. Although we are both light smokers, it was a big mistake to book a room where smoking is allowed. As soon as we got off the elevator on the 5th floor, the room smelled of cigarettes. 502's room was so bad that even the air purifier didn't work and the deodorizer didn't work, and the smell was so strong that we thought several people had been smoking in the room just a few minutes before. The smell was so strong that I wondered if more than one person had been smoking in the room just a few minutes before. The bathroom was also so bad that the ventilation fan did not work. Even the towels in the bathroom smelled of cigarettes. I have stayed in many rooms where smoking is allowed, but I have never seen it this bad. I guess they are not paying attention to the smell of cigarettes because it is a smokable room. If you are a heavy smoker and don't mind having your body smell like cigarettes, it's fine, but if you don't smoke that much and don't mind walking to the smoking area, I wouldn't recommend a smoking room. It smells too much. Even as a smoker, I found the smell unpleasant.
