Both the indoor and outdoor onsen were great, all open 24 hours so there is plenty of opportunity to have the bath to yourself. It is only a short shuttle bus ride away from the other onsen in the Nyuto area. The included breakfast and dinner were very goo

This onsen was absolutely beautiful against the winter landscape. We went on a Wednesday in January and had the entire outdoor mixed bath to ourselves for a majority of the time. Only one local day traveler joined us for half an hour or so. The water was v

Ganiba Onsen is probably my favourite place in Japan together with Kamikochi (Nagano). The onsen is idyllic, surrounded by forest. The whole place is much more peaceful than its more famous neighbour Tsurunoyo. Rooms are spacious and well apoointed. Meals

The food is interesting and delicious, but they are mainly wild vegetables cooked in unique style. Mixed open-air bath is good as it has the natural feel and more privacy than the other famous onsen nearby. The hotel is easy to reach with Ugo-Kotsu bus.

Very pleased with the stay in Dec. Stunning view of winter. Foods are not lavish but ok. Outdoor onsen in snow is amazing (But some of the shower taps are dry). Great 45 min ride with the nyuto onsen bus.
