Located on the shores of Lake Shikotsu about half an hour from Chitose, these facilities offer sodium-carbonated saline hot spring outdoor baths. The Health Buffet Amam, is as the name suggests, built around the concept of providing an all-you-can-eat buffet - but one that offers healthy food. In tandem with the spa itself, the hotel is aiming at revitalizing both body and mind. The food at the buffet is prepared with the minimum amount of salt and oil and is heavy on vegetables. Soups, fresh seafood, organic produce and select Hokkaido wagyu (Japanese beef) are all on the menu. The restaurant has a well-stocked wine cellar, with around 1,000 bottles lying in wait. Fresh desserts are made on the day, and there is a juice bar offering fruit and vegetable juice drinks.

This was my first visit to Lake Shikotsu. I had avoided Lake Shikotsu in general because of its high price, but this was my first visit to Lake Shikotsu. This time, the hotel kindly allowed me to stay in a room with a higher grade, and I was very satisfied with it. The hotel is a spacious and relaxing place, and the food was buffet style, but everything was calm and delicious. We would definitely like to visit again.

We stayed for 2 nights. Overall experience is perfect and we were very happy to stay here. Public bath, Room, Staff, Food were great. Just a minor comment that for breakfast and dinner, the buffet menu are exactly the same for each night , there should be

“The food and the atmosphere in the hotel were great.”
The entrance to the parking lot was difficult to find, and moreover, the information sign at the entrance was placed so far out of the way that large vehicles were likely to scrape by. The atmosphere in the lobby was very nice. We heard an explanation of the use of the hotel in our room. It was polite and good, but I was not informed of the time change for renting a pillow, nor was the time changed on the pamphlet, so I could not rent one. I was disappointed because I was looking forward to it. When I booked the room, there was a choice between "with view and without view" and the one with view was cheaper, but even though I chose the one without view, I could not see the lake from the room. The hotel staff told us that due to the structure of the hotel rooms, we could not see the lake unless we had a room on the far end of the hotel. If this is the case, then why not put a notice on the website when you book a room, informing you that you will not be able to see the lake if your room is not at the tip of the building? Moreover, we could see people getting on the elevator from our room. The food and bath were good.
