The parking lot was far from the inn, but we were picked up by a van, and we could drink as much as we wanted from the time we arrived at the inn until we left. The staff were all really nice.

It is a small hotel but has very nice room and warm and friendly service. It is situation right along the onsen street but a good 10-15 mins walk from the local bus stop. However, the hotel provide complimentary bus service from Oishida station both ways o

“The atmosphere of Taisho Romanticism was great!”
I had wanted to visit Ginzan Onsen at least once, and the Kosekiya Annex is located in the center of the area, with very nice hanging flowers in front of the ryokan and on the bridge railings, which made me feel that the ryokan was very attentive. The exterior of the ryokan is a lovely, historic, atmospheric building that is typical of Ginzan Onsen. I was surprised by the quality of the food. My husband and I were impressed by the fresh fish, vegetables, and meat that had been prepared with a lot of care and attention, even though we were deep in the mountains of Yamagata. And the free refills of drinks were heaven for my husband, who loves to drink. The employees were very attentive and made us feel very comfortable. The quality of the bath was good, and although I thought it was a little small, there is a pass to and from the affiliated Ginzanso, so I would recommend using their large bath.
