This traditional Japanese inn is on the grounds of the Nikko Toshogu Shrine. Guests can look forward to delightful seasonal cuisine and cordial service.

Very good location to see temples early morning. Good traditional Ryokan with diner in the room. Japanese Breakfast is in the restaurant. Nothing was bad.

Nice ryokan very close to Toshogu shrine. Food very good, especially for westerners, truly Japanese but not too odd. Onsen ok but nothing special. Separate entrance for rotenburo, but divided men/women.

This has been my first ryokan ever so I have no others to compare with. Overall, for a reasonable price we had very nice japanese stile room - big and well furnished, with toiled; in room japanese dinner experience (very good), japanese breakfast (bit akwa

“Recommended for exploring Nikko's shrines and temples.”
It seemed that Nikko was very crowded during the year-end and New Year's holidays, but since it was the time of year when the crowds had eased off, I was able to take a relaxing bath alone in the large bath. The outdoor bath in another part of the building has an indoor washing area and a bathroom heater, so it was very comfortable. The view is also nice. I have been to the onsen many times. It is a 5 minute walk to Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Futaarasan Shrine, and Rinnoji Temple, and we were allowed to leave our car there after check-in or after check-in so we could take a leisurely stroll. Dinner was served in the room, except for dessert, which was served at once so we could enjoy it at our leisure. The food was delicious and the portions were just right. We were able to get a last minute discount and enjoy a delicious meal and a visit to the hotel on the first day of the year. The building is old, but it was well cleaned.
