The following "vegetarian-friendly" dinner is prepared for vegetarian customers (please inform us when booking).
- Fresh tofu skin (made with bonito stock)
- Cooked dish (made with bonito stock)
- Tofu skin sushi
- Vinegared dish (made with bonito stock)
- Salad (made with garlic and onion dressing)
- Gratin (made with onions and consommé)
- Deep fried tofu with orange sauce (made with onions and garlic)
- Tofu vegetarian hamburg steak with red wine sauce (made with onions and beef stock)
- Rice
- Soup (made with bonito stock)
- Pickled vegetables
- Dessert
A vegetable-based menu is also available for breakfast, but is made with bonito stock.
Unfortunately, customers who cannot consume bonito stock for religious regions will not be able to dine at the hotel, and are recommended to book a stay without meals.
Also, customers on multiple day stays will be served the same menu on the 2nd day and onwards.
Customers who cannot consume beef for religious regions may change to pork or poultry, but this change must be notified when booking.

The room was on the side of the lake and the view was wonderful and the sunset was beautiful. The food was very good with a varied menu. The hotel is not large, but the attentive and family-like service made our trip a memorable one. I would like to use the hotel again if the opportunity arises.

The experience staying in Kojoen is one of my best hotel experience. The hotel is located beside the amazing Chuzenji Lake. We can see the lake in our room and when we had the hot spring. The dinner and the breakfast were also fantastic and delicious. Al

“I'm glad I chose it!”
It was our first time to stay in Oku-Nikko and we were not sure about the accommodations, but we made the right choice. The food was as good as the reviews say, and we enjoyed both the drinks and the food. We had a very enjoyable time, and the staff was very accommodating to our sudden request. We appreciated the fact that the baths were always available, and we were able to use the private baths twice if they were available. The rooms are old, but clean, with alcohol sanitizers everywhere, and the attention to detail of changing mats, plastic bags, and toiletries provided. The renovated room was very clean and the view was great! There was snow at the end of March, but we didn't feel cold at all in our room. There was a running water sound generator in the toilet in the room, which I thought was a wonderful touch. It had been several years since we had been on a couple's trip, and the staff made us feel very comfortable. Thank you very much!
