Great hotel, great rooms and very helpfull staff with a very good english level. You can book a room there without any hesitation. Just be prepared for a japanese breakfast with soup, fish and rice... typical but not always easy to eat as a European !

Asokasou is very well located next to Nara Park. We had a beautiful tatami room with a view of the famous 5 story pagoda. The service was very friendly, the food was excellent and the onsen was clean, hot, and relaxing. Highly recommended.

I have now stayed at Asukasou twice and both times have been a memorable and completely unique experience. Nara is a beautiful town which you must visit, Asukasou made our trip to Nara even better. The staff are very warm, the hotel is clean and stunning (

We had a very pleasant stay at the Ryokan Asukasou in a japonese style room and dinner; the exterior bath in front of the temple is a really special moment. Service is very well.

Fantastic Ryokan! Staff were exceptionally accomodating, even with a gluten intolerance. The food was wonderful and the private bath was devine. The location is right next to the 5 storey pagoda in Nara park.. I loved staying here and would happily do so

The room is fantastic, good size for 4 of us. Meals were very good , both breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed ourselves very much in Nara with the hospitality of Asukasou.

It was our first night in a ryokan and certainly an enjoyable experience. The ryokan is ideally situated near the 5-storey pagoda of Kofuku-ji and in front of a tourist info center offering various animations. Our room was very spacious with a loggia offer

I had the Japanese room with meals+sake plan. Staffs are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Its 15min walk from jr Nara.its nearer from kintetsu Nara. The room is big and nice. But sake plan is actually not from the hotel but a 15min walk from the hotel

春日大社で娘の結婚式があったのでのんびりしよう、翌日正倉院展にも行こうと予約しました。部屋は大きな丸窓に五重塔が見え、セミダブルベッド二台和室十畳マッサージ器もついていて本当にのんびり五重塔が見える露天風呂に入りました。食事もおいしく、松茸の土鍋の炊き込みご飯絶品、コースは彩りもきれいでおいしかったです。従業員方の対応が大変丁寧で居心地がよかったです。中心地にあるので、正倉院もそんなに並ばないし、車も預かってもらえるので色んな所を観光できました。本当にいいお宿をセレクトしてよかったです。

小規模なホテルで、外国人客や団体客が見当たらず、静かで落ち着いた大人の雰囲気でした。部屋から見える五重の塔が古都の趣きを感じさせ、日常の喧騒を忘れさせてくれました。食事は大変美味しく、量も多くて最高でした。また奈良を訪問する機会がありましたら、必ず再訪致します。有難うございました。

館内や設備は多少年数は感じるものの、これぞ旅館といった雰囲気でとても良かったです。 五重塔側のお部屋は眺めも良く、また朝晩ともお料理も美味しく、量も丁度良かったです。 大浴場と露天風呂が離れているのは若干難ありですが、それでも五重塔を眺めながらの露天風呂は格別でした。 何よりスタッフの方々が、お会いした皆さんが丁寧、親切で、とても気持ち良く過ごすことができました。 車で行きましたが、翌日は修学旅行生で貸し切りで駐車場が空いているということもあり、夜まで停めさせていただき、付近をゆっくり観光することができました。 高齢の母の初めての奈良旅行でしたが、とても良い思い出になりました。 本当にありがとうございました。 お世話になりました。

興福寺のとなり、猿沢池のすぐそばのお宿です。施設は大きめですが、ゆったり過ごせました。レストランでの夕食は、あたたかいものは熱々で、お造りは氷の器で等の工夫を愉しみながら、美味しくいただきました。

近鉄奈良からある程度距離はあり、初めてだとなかなかわかりづらい場所でした。 しかし、興福寺の五重塔がすぐ近くにあり、猿沢の池と五重塔をバックにきれいな写真を撮れるなど、観光としての立地は抜群でした。また、東大寺からもそれほど遠くなく徒歩圏内です。 夕食は豪華で、北海道からの観光としては奈良の雰囲気を十分に感じられるものでした。お酒も奈良の地酒があり、楽しめました。部屋食なのもよかったです。 朝食も同様に豪華で、朝からお腹いっぱい食べることができました。 なかなか奈良で宿泊という機会はありませんが、次にまた宿泊するときには利用したいです。

“Omotenashi no Yado (Inn of Hospitality)”
It is difficult for a single person to find an inn that offers 2 meals per night, and most of them are business hotels, but Asukasou welcomes you with warm-hearted hospitality. The meals are very tasty, and even if you don't like something, they will always change it if you inform them in advance (some hotels didn't do this). (There were hotels that did not offer this service.) The rice is especially delicious, and I always end up having another helping. The open-air bath, although not large, is also very nice. My only regret is that the pillows are soft, but other than that, I think this is a great place to stay. I would definitely come back again.
