The hot springs of Shima are perfect for a pleasant stay. From the time you are greeted by the staff to the time you are served your meal and sent off, you will be satisfied.

強羅のホテルに予約していたが台風で行けなくなり、急遽前日に豊島屋さんに予約を入れた。あまり期待はしていなかったのだが、良い意味で裏切られた感じ。特に部屋に付いている露天風呂が良かった。下を流れる四万川を眺めながら何度も入ってしまった。四万温泉は狭い道で車では大変なのはわかっていたが、やはり大変（笑）小さい車で行って良かった。

目に沁みる緑の美しさとせせらぎに癒される立地条件。 惜しむらくは私たちの部屋からは屋根が邪魔で川の眺めがさえぎられた事。 眺めは露天風呂で堪能し、窓を開けて一晩中せせらぎを聞きながらすごした。 食事も美味しく、朝夕食事処で隣の家族連れがうるさすぎてげんなりしたけれど、宿のサービスは抜かりがなく頑張っているのが見て取れた。 お風呂も小さいながら、源泉かけ流しの風呂にいつでもは入れたのが良かった。 掃除も行き届いているし、女将の目が行き届いているのを感じた。

お食事が大変美味しく、完食しました。 お掃除も行き届いていて、何処も綺麗でした。（特に窓ガラスが曇りなく） ただ、枕をもう少し考えていただけると嬉しいです。 ビーズ枕で寝苦しかったです。

“It was a cozy inn.”
The room was along the Shima River, and when we opened the sliding door, we could hear the river flowing by, and at night we could gaze at the starry sky. For dinner, we had the option of ordering a portion of Jyoshu beef for two, which was enough for the two of us, along with other dishes. The meat was very tasty. To get to the bath, we had to go down the stairs, but it was a little cramped and the building was all up and down stairs, so I thought it might be a little difficult for the elderly. I thought it might be a little difficult for the elderly. I thought there would be two private baths, but there were two bathtubs in one private bath. I think it is a very good ryokan if you don't mind going up and down the stairs.
