Making it to the top 25 B&Bs and inns of Japan on a well-renowned online travel website is this ryokan, located a 10-minute walk from Yudanaka Station. Guests can look forward to soaking in a large communal bath or open-air bath, or trying out the reservable open-air bath (for a charge). A relaxing massage is also available (request system). The hotel also features free Wi-Fi connection throughout the entire building, a Japanese taiko drum show at the lobby, a karaoke room, and gift shop. There are Japanese-style rooms with tatami floors and futon bedding, as well as Western-style rooms with beds, all equipped with flat-screen TVs, refrigerators, hot water pots and safety deposit boxes. 1-night accommodation with breakfast and dinner plans include a kaiseki meal at the dining room, with courses brought in by a hotel staff. The hotel is just 5 minutes on foot from a statue of the goddess for peace, a 25-minute drive from the Shiga Kogen ski areas, and a 15-minute drive from the Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park.

Please be aware of the following when booking.
(1) For guests wishing to use the shuttle bus from Yudanaka Station, please contact the ryokan in advance. Please be aware that requests for after 19:00 cannot be accepted.
(2) For guests with tattoos, please refrain from using the large communal baths.
(3) Breakfast is a Japanese-style set menu. For guests that would like a Western-style meal, please request one at the time of booking (same menu per group).
Dinner will be a seasonal, Japanese-style kaiseki set meal.
If there are children (ages 0-12) among the group, please notify the ryokan of the number of children and their ages.
A kids’ lunch can be provided at dinner only. Available on request.
If there are children aside from those included in number of reserved guests, please notify the ryokan.

Ages 2-3: Admission fee of JPY 2,160 (No meals, no bedding)
Ages 3 and older: Kids’ lunch can be provided. (In addition to the admission fee, a separate charge for a meal will be required.)
Dinner: Kids’ lunch - JPY 3,780; Breakfast: Japanese-style set menu (same as Adult guests) - JPY 1,620
(4) For guests with food allergies, guests that are vegetarians, and guests that cannot handle raw food, please notify us at time of reservation. For guests with religious dietary restrictions, please consult the ryokan. The ryokan will accommodate requests as much as possible. Requests can be accepted up to 3 days prior to check-in. Please note that same-day requests cannot be accepted due to ingredient availability reasons.
(5) Please make sure to contact the facility if checking in after 18:00. Please be aware that if guests arrive after their designated time, the ryokan will not be able to provided them with dinner. (Refunds will not be issued.)

This is my 6th time doing onsen and is the worst experience by far. The room is super tiny. I have to place my legs sideways when sitting down on the toilet. The food quality is extremely bad. It’s a shame for them to even serve the traditional Kaiseki din

This is the second time i stayed here. I was soooo happy they now have an English speaking staff, Irish who is very caring,attentive, polite to cater to all our needs, even planning itineraries for sightseeing during our stay. She made us feel very comfort

Excellent service with gourmet breakfasts & dinner. We stayed here for 7 nights in Japanese style room, and could easily stayed for another week if one could afford not to work! Definitely recommend anyone that is skiing in Shiga Kogen to stay here, you

“It was great!”
The staff was very kind to us even though we made the reservation on short notice. We were especially impressed with the view and the quality of the hot spring water in the rooftop private open-air bath! I would like to have dinner next time!
