More about Tatsumikan

Our peaceful ryokan (Japanese-style hotel ) with hot spring follows the Tonegawa River and you can see Mt. Tanigawadake in the distance. In addition to a bath with a large wall-painting by Yamashita Kiyoshi (a famous Japanese painter) and an open-air bath; our food, eaten by the fire, is also famous.

      “It is a healing inn.”

The staff were all really nice and made me feel comfortable throughout my stay. I was worried that the public baths would be crowded because it was Saturday, but I went in four times and was able to take my time without crowding. The charcoal grill for dinner was delicious. The hotel is very close to the Mizukami Interchange, so I think it is very convenient.

“First trip to Gunma in a long time”

I didn't get a chance to travel very often because of the Corona disaster, but I chose a place and an inn that I don't usually go to through the use of National Travel Assistance. I was healed. The bath water was lukewarm and relaxing. The meals were locally produced and consumed, and I was very satisfied. The bamboo wine was delicious. I appreciate the chef's ingenuity. Meals were served on a timed basis. The inn's infection countermeasures were also well taken, so I felt safe.

“Charcoal mountain village cuisine and haniwa baths are the best!”

Charcoal mountain village cuisine is authentic, cooked over charcoal in a sunken hearth. You can enjoy skewered river fish, meat, and local vegetables. The raw egg is superb. They are fresh, have no fishy smell, and are superbly delicious. The haniwa bath is decorated with mosaic paintings by Kiyoshi Yamashita (who actually supervised the bath) on the large wall, which you can admire while taking a bath and enjoy the dreamy feeling. This is a unique hot spring bath experience. The hot spring water is free-flowing and not circulated, which is highly appreciated. Among hotels with many circulating hot spring baths, this is one of the best.

“We stayed again for this dinner!”

The charcoal grill for dinner was delicious, with salt-grilled rockfish and meat (beef, chicken, and pork), and the vegetables were grilled on different grills, making them even more delicious. Everyone who served us in the hotel was kind and courteous. Each of the large baths had its own atmosphere and were full of a sense of cleanliness. The fact that the hotel had begun to address plastic products also made us feel comfortable.

      “hot spring”

It was the best hot spring. The hot spring with the mural by Kiyoshi Yamashita was nice.
