This is our first trip to Nagano. Since we were visiting by car, we were worried about snow and icy roads, so we asked the hotel some questions before staying at the hotel. (I live in an area where it doesn't snow), but the hotel staff were all very kind and helpful. Around the hotel, there seems to be no need to change to studless tires unless it is in December. The Japanese kaiseki dinner was a full meal and all the dishes were really delicious. The breakfast buffet had a large variety of items on the menu that could be enjoyed by small children and adults alike. We were also very pleased with the hair dryer in the bath. I would definitely use this hotel again the next time I go to Nagano.

The Azumino View Hotel is beautifully located at the base of the Japanese alps. The staff is very friendly and, even for Japanese standards, extremely helpful. Like most hotels in the area, the hotel is located at some distance from the train station, but

安曇野市の街から常念岳の麓の大自然の中にあります。街中は桜が満開でしたがホテルの周りは開花していませんでした。１０日ほど遅い感じです。部屋、温泉、食事は大満足でした。

早朝ホテルの裏庭に３０匹程の野生の猿が山から降りて来ていました。７：００頃一斉にまた山に戻って行きましたが、なかなか壮観な眺めでした。

“Hotel in the woods in Azumino”
The hotel is located in a wooded area with good access from both the train station and the highway in Hotaka. There is nothing in the vicinity, so it is necessary to go shopping in the town for convenience stores. The dining area is more like a large cafeteria than a restaurant. However, changing clothes is not allowed in the public space on the first floor, and it is troublesome. The view from the window of the room is noticeably superior or inferior depending on the direction of the room. Sound leakage from the hallway to the rooms is not small. The opposite is also true.
