This well-established ryokan (traditional Japanese-style inn) has been in business for more than 110 years, and was renovated in May 2007. Enjoy a panoramic view of Lake Shinjiko from your guestroom with observatory bath, as well as their garden beautifully arranged with white sand and pine trees. Enjoy tasting their special home recipe, taimeshi (rice cooked with shredded sea bream).

The room was very nice with a great view over the bridge towards lake Shinji. The Japanese garden of the hotel was lovely. Food was good and the staff very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay though overall, it was maybe a bit overpriced.

we had a wonderfull time at Minamikan. Beautifull room, beautifull garden, clean, perfect hospitality, very nice people and dilicious food. We do recommend this very nice hotel!!! By the way, we didn't use the hot springs (next time!).

“It was even better than I had imagined.”
I wanted to stay in a room on the 4th floor, so I arranged my itinerary according to the availability of rooms on the 4th floor. The room was very nice, and the view of Lake Shinji through the large single-pane glass window was very nice. The bath in the room was also very nice, although I couldn't open the shoji. We were very impressed to have a private room with a beautiful view of the garden, and we even received origami cranes and a message from the hostess. The food was beautiful and delicious. When it was time to check out, I asked for a cab and headed to the front desk. I was able to pay the bill before the cab arrived and catch the train I wanted to take without incident. Everything was perfect! I am so glad we stayed at Minamikan. It was a memorable trip for our silver wedding anniversary. We will be back again when we go back to the San-in region.
