Located away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Sun Members Kyoto Saga is a Kyoto-style hidden retreat near Arashiyama and Sagano, popular sightseeing areas filled with the atmosphere of Kyoto. There are several World Heritage Sites nearby. The hotel is 5 minutes by car from JR Saga-Arashiyama Station. A free shuttle bus also operates (runs on a set schedule, reservation required). Staff clad in kimono bring guests seasonal dishes from Japanese cuisine, which has been designated as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Guests here will certainly have a fascinating stay as they enjoy looking at gorgeous folding screens showing trees and flowers of the season, an ox-drawn coach and other elegant furnishings on display.

I felt at home.”
I used this hotel for a solo trip to Saga Arashiyama. I walked from the nearest station, which was indeed a bit of a challenge, but there is a city bus that goes right up to the hotel. There is also a shuttle bus to take you back. The staff is also very excellent. I had a double room for one person and it was very relaxing. However, the size of the room is adequate for two people, but you may not find it relaxing. It is a shame that the bathroom and toilet are the same. Also, I would have liked drip coffee in the tea set in the room. Breakfast was delicious, Japanese style, and the rice was refillable.

朝食のボリュームがあって色々たくさん戴けて大変満足しました。 アメニティのカミソリがまったく切れなくて家から持ってくれば良かったと思いました。スタッフの皆さんも一度使用感確かめてみると良いかもしれません。

おばんざい…升目に入った料理、見た目もいい感じ。味も美味しく。朝食は、茶粥が最高に美味しいです。カウンター席で食べるのをお薦めします。

２度目の利用でしたが、本当にお客様を大切にされているホテルでした。静かな環境のもとに、ゆっくり静養でき、是非ともまた行きたい場所です。アクセスはさほどよくはありませんが、その分情緒を満喫できました。
