This traditional Japanese-style inn is one of the oldest in Yugashima Onsen, and is famous as an inn where the Nobel Prize winner Kawabata Yasunari stayed to write some of his novels. It is also famous as a place where the movie "The Dancing Girl of Izu", based on one of Kawabata's novels, was filmed. Guests can take a look at the room Kawabata used, which is preserved as it used to be.

伊豆の踊子・川端康成 ゆかりのお宿です。建物は古いですが、きれいです。料理も色とりどりの野菜、地元の食材とどれも美味しくいただきました。雨が続いていたので、露天風呂の前の河の水量が凄くて、迫力満点の流れでした。宿の方たちの対応もよく、のんびり満足のお宿でした。 ただ、食事処の照明が暗かったのが残念でした。

我々世代が知っている歌人・若山牧水が投宿した部屋に泊まれるとは｜｜ 違い棚つき書院床つき床の間、素敵なデザインの格子戸。素晴らしかった。

ゆったりと温泉につかりました。 オフシーズンなのでお風呂は貸し切り状態でした。 夕食も新鮮なお刺身、野菜もたっぷりな猪鍋、鮎の甘露煮など十分満足させられました。 また、是非泊まってみたいと思いました。

あこがれの宿だったのでとても楽しみにしてました。期待通りでとても良かった！懐かしい感じでとても落ち着いていて大人がゆっくり過ごせるお宿です。スタッフの方もとても感じが良くて絶対また行きたいです！

“Exceptional”
Private outdoor hot spring pool on the river was lovely. Service was excellent. Very nice room with balcony and river view. Delicious meals. Access is a bit difficult, requiring local train from Mishima and then local bus, followed by a walk to the ryokan.
