The Tofuya Resort & Spa-Izu, with guestrooms, restaurants, and onsen dotting its 119,000 square meter grounds spanning the bank of the Yoshina River, prides itself on its 400 years as a Japanese-style resort.
The superior guest rooms, which are both traditional and modern, are not only Internet accessible, but the baths in each room use water from an onsen. The Yoshina Onsen, the oldest onsen in Izu, which was visited by a famous courtesan in the Edo era, can be found at this ryokan.
The 6 different onsen - the men’s and women’s open-air baths, the private baths, and men’s and women’s indoor baths - are also quite enticing.
For meals, please enjoy Japanese auberge-style cuisine at Kaiseki Chaya shuion, a restaurant that left behind the pillars and beams of an Edo era building, and restored the thatched roof.

雰囲気のある素敵なお宿でした。今回は冬に泊まらせてもらったので、渡り廊下や露天風呂が寒かったです。春か秋の川沿いの景色も今回とは違うと思うのでまた来てみたいです。

到着から大変気配りの聞いた対応で良かったですが、ウエルカムドリンクは大正館でも良いですが、お茶のサービスぐらいは必要では？ 食事の接客に問題があると思います。また料理の出てくるタイミングが遅く、家族全員が不満をもらいしていました。朝食では籠盛りが積んであり、ジュースの問いかけは有りましたが、籠盛りはそのままで、すいません忘れていましたと言われました、もう少ししっかり教育が必要ではないでしょうか。

ホタルツアーに誘われて。源氏ほたるを見に行きました。秘密の場所とのはがきに期待感が半端なく大きくなりました！期待感が大きすぎたせいか源氏ほたるが数匹平家ほたるの十数匹にはがっかりでした！まだ、目白の放しかいの椿山荘ホテルの方が数倍も楽しめる数十倍ものホタルの数でした！川の流れが急すぎていることもアウトではなかったかと思いました！残念！！食事は期待通りでした！

ところが今年の桜はすでに散っていました。 ですが、お天気もよく、夫婦共に誕生月のお祝いにのんびり過ごせて満足いたしました。 館内がやや要り組んでいて慣れないと迷子になりそうですがお庭やカフェ、ベーカリーまであり散策には事欠きません。 和のテイストの宿ですが今回はベット仕様、レストランで食事ですからホテルのような自由さがあり寛げました。 お食事は魚好きの夫も特にお造りに満足しておりました。最近は年齢的にも品数より質を求めるようになりました。 苦手な物を避けていただくお願いも細かい処まで気を使っていただき恐縮いたしました。 また、お風呂はよくあるような部屋のテラスの露天風呂は苦手ですがこちらのお部屋の半露天風呂はゆっくり入れました。 河鹿の湯も前回訪れて気に入っており、スパも利用でき、満足でした。 また違うシーズン、再び桜の咲く頃にもまたトライしてみたいです。

“全体としては満足でした！”
部屋の露天風呂から外の通路が見えてしまい、周囲の視線を気にしながら入浴しなければならなかった点は残念でした。せっかくの露天風呂の良さが十分に生かされていないように感じます。また、前泊した東伊豆の同系列ホテルと比較すると、床暖房などの設備面では東伊豆の施設のほうが充実している印象でした。 人手不足の影響もあるのか、以前楽しみにしていた大正館ならではのサービスについてはやや質が下がっているように感じました。このような点はありましたが、全体としては概ね満足しており今後の改善に期待しています。
