Suimeikan is a ryokan that was established 80 years ago along the Hida River, where it currently remains sitting at the heart of Gero Onsen, one of the three most famous onsen locations in Japan. Guests can experience traditional Japanese culture inside the ryokan, which features a Japanese garden, a genuine Noh stage, as well as ceramic and art works.
Guests can also enjoy hot springs with skin beautifying effects in three spots, including an open-air bath with an indoor bath, a large communal scenic bath, and a large communal indoor bath with a hinoki sauna. The communal scenic bath can be used 24 hours a day.
The lodging offers a variety of guest rooms in the Seiranso, Rinsenkaku, Hisenkaku, Sansuikaku manors, each built separately and in the style of a tea-ceremony arbor. Guests can also choose from rooms with private open-air baths, as well as between Japanese-style and Japanese/Western-style rooms.
In addition to the Japanese kaiseki course served in the guestroom, guests can also choose from a French course, Japanese cuisine course, and a Japanese/Western/Chinese fusion kaiseki course.
The hotel also features plenty of facilities for plenty of fun, such as a swimming pool, gym, beauty salon, and a bar.

for the first time”
This was my first trip to Gero Onsen. It was a big hotel and the interior was very spacious, so it was a little difficult to move from one bath to another, but the quality of the spring water was very good and we felt the skin moisturizing power immediately after bathing. The French dinner was also delicious.

thanks for the help”
Gero Onsen It was the first time for me to visit Gero Onsen. The hot spring was good, and the early morning bath was rented out.

Family trip with my 105 year old mother and a late-aged family member.”
My mother is disabled and was in a wheelchair, but the service provided by the employees in the bathroom and dining room was very good and helpful.

Is this what it looks like?”
Breakfast was very good. There were three baths, one was new and nice, but the other two were small and old.

Repeater.”
We stayed again in June following May. We were very satisfied with both the bath and meals. When I checked in, I was told, "Thank you for your hospitality," which made me feel a bit embarrassed, but at the same time it made me happy. Last time, my mother, wife and I had dinner together. This time we visited with the breakfast-only plan and enjoyed the breakfast as well. The staff was very clean and well trained. I will definitely stay there again. Thank you very much.
