    2. Ginzan Onsen is a hot spring ryokan district that has retained its appearance since the Taisho period (1912-1926). The town streets, illuminated by gas lamps, are rich in atmosphere.     3. Risshaku-ji Temple, also known as Yama-dera, was founded in 860. It is a Tendai sect Buddhist temple of ancient and honorable origin which stands on a sacred mountain symbolic of Tohoku. After climbing the stairs with more than 1,000 steps, enjoy the wonderful seasonal landscape below. The view from Godaido Hall, which overlooks Yama-dera as it seems to stick out from the cliff, will have you wanting to take a picture of the scene.
