Great Room for the price paid. Hotel Fuyokaku is located so near to Fujisan (Mt Fuji) Station. If the departmental store (Q-Sta) is open, you may consider to pass through the back door (near to where the counters selling beauty products). Cross the road and turn left on the 2nd road. This leads you to the hotel building. Lobby is located at 3rd floor. Stayed in Room 505 and woke up to a magnificent view of Mt Fuji. Didn't expect much from hotel as per other travellers but yes it was a good stay.

There is no no-smoking room in this hotel, but the staff was trying his best to find a relatively "no-smoking" room for us when requested. The hotel is a good hub for exploring Fuji area at a reasonable price. It is only 5 minutes by car to Fuji-Q highland. Nice view of Mt. Fuji if you stay at the correct side of the hotel and the weather is excellent. There is no wifi in the room so you have to use it at the lobby. There are ample parking spots available with no parking fees.

This so called business hotel was definately the most expensive but worst accomodation on my three week holiday trip through Japan. Compared to the room fare, you can join high quality hotels in the centre of Tokyo! Put your fingers away from this hotel.

We arrived at 9AM to deposit our luggages, the reception staff was dressed simply too casually for business, and not seemed to know how to handle our arrival. We were asked to deposit the luggages at the dinning room, unsecured it seemed. On our return at 8:30Pm for the night stay, another man took much time to find the keys to the rooms for use. The rooms were generally old and ill maintained, broken lamp shade, underside of the toilet seat cover was not cleaned. No one to administer early check out at 7AM, a youth hostel I stayed days before seemed to managed its facilities better.

location-wise, its right next to Fujiyoshida station. The room had great view of Mount Fuji. Okay for backpackers but I have family with kids, felt the room was a little old, need some sprucing up perhaps ?

Very simple hotel, not a lot of amenities. Not a bad place to crash for the night, but not recommended for more than a one-night stay.

Positives: Close to the train station; within walking distance to Fujikyu Highland.

Negatives: No non-smoking rooms; walls are very thin, heard people all night coming and going from their rooms; not the cleanest hotel I've stayed at, old towels and slippers, very thin bedroom sheets; and room a bit dark.

Overall, if you are looking for a simple accommodations at a reasonable price, this wouldn’t be a bad choice.
