Steps away from the electric railway. It's a pity they do not provide dinner.

Kaihinso is a very pleasant place to stay, very peaceful and the hotel team is always here to serve you and ensure you spend a pleasant stay. Ideally situated, 100 meters from a station of the electric train from Kamakura to Enoshima and a short walk from the sea or Hasedera and the Daibatsu.

The room and the whole ryokan is awesome. Clean, awesome environment, a true ryokan with scenting tatami and a view on a Japanese garden.
Also, it is very well located: it is close to the Hase Dera, close to the beach and very close to Kamakura electric tramway.
Nevertheless, I expected more about the common bath with the big bathtube. That was very ordinary.
Also, the staff is friendly, also English-speaking, but not very flexible: there was no way to cancel the Japanese-style breakfast and also, they came and tapped the door every morning to remind us about the breakfast (this was quite irritating). Also, there is a strict curfew at 11:30 p.m. In general, a very beautiful place to stay, but it should become more relaxed.

Very convenient location, close to the station and to the ocean. Good bus services to the temples.

Our 2 nights @ Kaihinso were the highlight of our trip to Japan. It was our first time at a ryokan, so we're not comparing this one to others. The room was large enough and very clean, with a patio overlooking a small garden, where we would happily sit and relax after a day in the town. The meals -- we had one dinner and two breakfasts -- were Kyoto style, beautifully prepared and served, with fresh local ingredients. The onsen is small and quiet. Within walking distance of the Great Buddha and a wonderful restaurant, Matsubara-an. Staff was very kind and spoke English.

Kaihinso was great! We had a fantastic time relaxing in the hot bath & also experienced a beautiful Japanese traditional ryokan after exploring Kamakura for 1 whole day.
