We very much enjoyed our stay at this ryokan. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The two indoor hot spring baths changed on a daily basis so we each got to experience both baths, which were good-sized, clean and at a good temperature for us, about 105 degrees F. The outdoor baths were a 3-minute walk across the the bridge; they were available to ryokan guests and the general public. Ryokan guests were given a wooden ticket for free entry. There were five baths for men and five for women - the temperatures ranged from the cool to about 106 degrees F and included a wooden bath, stone bath, shallow reclining bath and a bath with jets. The food was delicious and plentiful - the breakfast was set, not buffet, and the dinner was a delicious multi-course kaiseki meal. They respected our wishes for no fried foods. Our liaison, Yu, spoke excellent English and was helpful in explaining the food and answering our questions. We had a delightful time.
