The family that owns the ryokan were very welcoming and provided very good service to us. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean. We came by car but the road in was inaccessible that day (partially collapsed) so we had to drag our luggage upslope in the rain (with the owner's son's help). Location is close to train station and walk up Yoshino mountain so its rather convenient. Very quiet and peaceful surrounding which was pleasant. Downsides were the stairs we had to take getting to the shared bathroom. Not a problem for young people but may be an issue with older folks. I recommend travellers to consider getting rooms with meals at this ryokan as there were not many food options nearby, closest was either on Mt. Yoshino or driving out to the nearby town.
