The hotel is an old building and as such does come with it's quirks, which we expected however overall we were a little dismayed at the experience. When we first arrived, we were told that our room had a leak and it would need to be repaired during the day. When we went to the front desk the morning of the construction to let them know we wouldn't be leaving (because it was raining the entire day), they didn't seem to know anything about the leak but were accommodating when we requested another room incase construction did need to be done. No one ever ended up coming to fix the leak which was kind of frustrating as it put us in a limbo state the whole day. The meals are very large (VERY large, 5+ courses), very traditional, and generally pretty bland unfortunately so while you will never go hungry, if you're not used to that type of cuisine, you may want to simply eat at one of the many restaurants nearby. Overall, the private onsen was nice but likely would not stay here again.
