We were traveling in Japan with our nephew for three weeks. This place is fabulous. The facilities are very nice and the view of Kawaguchiko Lake is breathtaking. All the rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows that face the lake. All three of us stayed in one room. We slept on shikibutons on tatami mats, which were amazingly comfortable. The staff was welcoming and explained the nuances of staying in a Ryokan. We were provided with yukatas, a casual summer kimono, and slippers and encouraged to wear them throughout the property from the time we arrived. Toki-Yu-Yu also has a male and female Onsen, which felt like heaven after our Fuji climb. We were provided with detailed instructions on the use and procedures for enjoying the Onsen. Dinner was kaiseki-style, a traditional, multicourse meal - 9 courses in total. Not only was the food fabulous, but the presentation was unbelievable. Breakfast was also traditional and very good.
