Insanely good bang for the buck in one of the most character-filled areas of Shinjuku, right next to the Bladerunner bars of Golden Gai, the sleaziness of Kabukicho, and the great fine dining and hustle + bustle of Shinjuku Sanchome. Citadines was our perfect introduction to Japan. There's even a 24 hour Lawson convenience store downstairs! The only downside is it's a good 8-10 minutes walk from the most useful transfer points in Shinjuku Station, which, if you're super overwhelmed and tired, is not the most relaxing walk. Otherwise, if you're an adventuresome 20-35 year old who'd gladly weather a bit of grit for maximal charm and access, this is the place to be. The interiors aren't even gritty at all, as it seems very new inside!
