Beautiful traditional rooms, delicious food and lovely private and public onsens. Part of the public onsen is outdoors. We could see and hear the rushing river from our room, and were served dinner and breakfast in our own private dining room. Despite their very limited English and our non existent Japanese, the staff made such an effort to help us and explain all the many dishes we were served. Avoid arriving between 11am and 3pm, when there seems to be nobody there to greet you. We were kindly assisted by Marinia who was busy cleaning the rooms and spoke excellent English. The nearest station is 7 mins walk and there's a shuttle bus to Kinugawa Onsen at 10h45. We would definitely recommend Wakatakanosho.
