The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and taken care of. Room is great and the common areas at once modern and yet classic. The onsen (we only went to the private ones as we're a family with young boys who may upset other guests with their loudness) is better than other ryokans' we've tried: the setting (outdoor and indoor baths) is lovely and the facilities spotlessly clean yet traditional. Food is awesome, and they were kind enough to let us have private dining on the last night, which was even more special. The location is good for day trips to nearby onsen towns, although the little village it's in is quiet. We really enjoyed ourselves.
