I only stayed one night and wished I'd stayed more .. perfect place with the most wonderful host/ hostess . Would definitely stay there again .

This inn has been at the foot of Mt. Haguro for 300 years, one of the 3 Mountains of Dewa. In this classic hotel building built in the Taisho Era, guests can enjoy famous delicacies, cooked with local ingredients in a traditional way. Relax in the artificial maifan stone hot spring.

From Shonai Airport: About 30 minutes by taxi (Approx. 6,500 JPY), or 90 minutes by bus (Approx. 2,500 JPY / Current as of Mar. 2008).
From Tsuruoka Station (JR Uetsu Line): About 20 minutes by taxi (Approx. 4,000 JPY / Current as of Mar. 2008).
The last bus is around 20:30.
By car: Exit the Yamagata Expressway at Shonai-Asahi IC and head towards Hagurosan Zuishinmon, Koganedo.
From Tsuruoka Station (JR Uetsu Line): Take a bus bound for Haguro Sancho (top of Mt. Haguro) and get off at Aramachi Bus Stop after about 35 minutes. Walk straight forward for about 1 minute, and the hotel will be on the right.
