We stayed one night at this gorgeous ryokan and had a quintessential Japanese experience. The Japanese gardens were breathtaking and the hotel immaculate. Service was exceptional. We had someone pick us up at the train station to drive us to the hotel, an unexpected surprise. The best thing about the hotel were the hot springs. I've been to hot springs in Japan that were too hot for my foreign sensibilities, but these were the perfect temperature and super relaxing. They included a sauna and small cold pool, a large, beautiful outdoor spring and another indoor one. Felt incredibly rejuvenated afterward. The rooms are beautiful and the full Japanese experience, meaning you sleep on futons on the floor. If you are not used to this, it can be a little uncomfortable. We had the breakfast and it was very traditional Japanese. Picky eaters may not find much to their liking, so I would recommend getting the dinner. Will definitely go back!
