We managed to time it well, beginning of November offered some vivid yellow and red leaves. This was all enjoyed from our room.
We stayed at a traditional style futon/tatami mat room. The room was spacious and the staff provided turn down service when we were eating our dinner. I suggest anyone booking this hotel be prepared to know some phrases in Japanese or have a translation of what they are trying to say. The main challenge was visiting Aizuwakamatsu but we managed to get a shuttle ride to the local train station.
The hotel took my requests seriously, especially for dietary issues. Dinner was truly delicious! The meal was fresh, perfect, and we were able to enjoy it in our own private dining space.
All the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We spent 9 days in Japan and the 2 we spent in Ashinomaki were among our favorite. We highly recommend this hotel.
