About 30 minutes by car from the center of Sendai. Hotel Zuiho is set in an immense setting, overlooking the Rairaikyo Valley. The hotel offers a large communal bath, 6 open-air baths as well as a luxurious buffet.

On Saturdays and days before holidays, the restaurant serves tuna, but this time it was a weekday, so I did not expect it to be so. I was expecting this because the hotel advertisement or something had the mark of Azumonomono. I do not think that the seafood from Shiogama is that good, but I think that the seafood that is shipped under the name of Azumonomono is top-notch. On this day, it was yellowfin tuna. Of course, it was not from the East. The shime saba (mackerel) that we had previously received, which claims to be from the East, is also available, but they don't stock it. It's a really tasty shime saba with more fat than the name-only kinke saba. We had had grouper as white meat before, but today it was sea bream. Too bad. I thought it must be hard work. It's a big hotel, so they probably can't process all the cheap, tasty, small, time-consuming local fish. The quality of the beef tongue was not as good as before, but I had a feeling they were getting the best. Other than that, the food was excellent.

Everything was very satisfying. Especially watching the "Koi" after the bath was soothing to my soul. 5 and 3 year old grandchildren were also getting on board. I would like to go back again.

The only thing that would be perfect is to raise the temperature of the water bath after the sauna a little because it is too cold!
