This hotel boasts a natural outdoor bath, as well as a gallery of paintings and photographs of the Japanese Alps. Azumino Cuisine is a point of particular pride at Kamikochi Onsen Hotel. Located near the Weston Memorial - dedicated to renowned mountaineer and English clergyman, Walter Weston - guests can enjoy taking a stroll around the surrounding area as well.

We stayed here because it was close to the Yakidake & Nishihotaka trailhead. We stayed here with our family of three, including a child with an egg allergy. The hot spring baths, both open-air and indoor, were enjoyable with a wide variety. If we didn't have children, the score would probably have been higher, but there were some points that we noticed when we had children, so I would like to mention them for your future reference. I would like to add that the food for children does not have to be the same as the food for adults. Children are more attracted to hamburgers, fried foods, etc. rather than being concerned about color and ingredients. Breakfast is a buffet, but I would like to know which meals have eggs & which don't, not that I have to prepare meals without eggs. I think it is necessary to share this information with the staff or have them inform us in advance.

We liked the location, which is a walking distance away from Kappa-bashi (15 minutes) and at the same time by the river. The onsen is wonderful, very traditional, with stone pools and wooden tubs. Rooms and food are nothing special, at a decent level for a

I was worried with other comments commenting that the onsen would be dated - but it was so charming! The facilities, decor, room and spa were all stunning! Very English friendly, excellent food and epic views of the river. Highly recommended. Beautiful hik

“I was able to take a hot spring bath in Kamikochi.”
The adjacent Lumiesta Hotel and two other hotels are the only two accommodations in Kamikochi that offer access to hot springs. The hot water coming out of the faucet is watered with hot spring water. It has a long history and was visited by writers crossing the mountain pass before the Kama Tunnel was built. The morning mist and morning glow of Mt. Kasumisawa behind Azusa River in front of the hotel were very beautiful.
