Chikura is written with the characters for 'thousand' and 'warehouse' and was named as such because previously, fishing was prosperous and there were more than 1,000 warehouses for storing marine products.
Chikura is located in a hot spring region approximately 2.5 hours away from Narita and Tokyo Station by car. And it is a relatively short drive from tourist locations like Disneyland (about 2 hours), Misui Outlet Park Kisarazu (about 1.5 hours), and Mother Farm (about 1 hour).
