How to get there?
From Sendai Airport: about 60 min by taxi at around JPY 10,000 or 50 min by bus at around JPY 800 (as of July 2009).
From Shiroishi Station (JR Tohoku Main Line): about 1 min on foot.
From Shiroishi-Zao Station (Tohoku Shinkansen): about 3 min by car.
By car: about 10 min from Tohoku Expressway Shiroishi IC. Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Shiroishi IC and continue along National Route 4 heading to Prefectural Route 12. The hotel is right near JR Shiroishi Station.
The hotel parking lot accommodates vehicles up to 5 meters long. Reservation is required in advance for vehicles exceeding a length of 5 meters such as trucks and mini buses. Please inform us of the actual length for verification.
Suzukiya Ryokan
The hot springs here is said to have been discovered by a villager with a sickle in 1428, after which it became known for its medicinal qualities. The saline springs are thought to have an effect on injuries and gastrointestinal disorders. With a great environment for healing, these facilities are largely focused on medical treatment. 20 minutes by car to Zao Fox Village.

From Shiroishi Zao Station (JR Tohoku Shinkansen): about 20 min by taxi.
Zao no Oyado Sansa Tei
This hotel boasts a panoramic view of Zao, abundant hot springs, and cuisine that makes use of seasonal ingredients. It works hard to create a relaxing atmosphere for its guests.
How to get there?
From Sendai Airport: Take the JR Sendai Station Access Line to Sendai Station (about 17 minutes). At the bus area by the station, take the expressway bus bound for Togatta Onsen leaving from Bus Stop No. 34 and get off at Yu-no-machi. The hotel is about a 3-minute walk from the bus stop.
Tokinenoyado Yunushi Ichijoh
The hot springs were opened about 600 years ago and we have a medicinal bath that uses 100% natural spring water. You can also enjoy dinner while listening to jazz music.
How to get there?
From Shiroishi-Zao Station (JR Tohoku Shinkansen): About 15 min by taxi.
By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Shiroishi IC and continue along National Route 4 for about 5 min (3 km), then along Prefectural Route 254 for about 10 min (7 km). Landmark: Kattasogo Hospital.
Active Resorts Miyagi Zao
Located at the foot of Mt. Zao, and commanding a full view of the Zao Range, this hotel has 310 guest rooms, a banquet hall, and several convention halls. Guests can enjoy seven tennis courts, a swimming pool and an 18-hole golf course.
How to get there?
To JR Shiraishi Zao Station: 2.30 hr from Tokyo by Shinkansen.
From JR Shiraishi Zao Station: 50 min by bus to Togatta Spa, then 15 min on foot.
Tamaya Ryokan
Popular for its original kaiseki cuisine using the seasonal ingredients of Zao, Tamaya Ryokan also offers hot spring baths. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the flowing hot spring waters of the large communal bath or reservable bath.
How to get there?
From Sendai Airport: about 60 min by taxi at around JPY 11,000 (as of June 2015).
From Shiroishi-Zao Station (JR Tohoku Shinkansen): about 45 min by taxi at around JPY 6,000 (as of June 2015). Alternativey, take the bus to Togatta Onsen Yunomachi (about 45 min). About 3 min on foot from there. The last bus departs at 17:29.
By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Shiroishi-Zao IC and continue along National Route 4, Prefectural Route 12. Landmark: Zao Ecoline area.
Ryokan Sanjiro
Guests can enjoy a soak in the large communal bath or open-air bath while admiring the stunning views of Mount Zao. The scenery in the morning and evening are especially spectacular.
How to get there?
From Sendai Station (JR Tohoku Shinkansen): Take a Miyagi Kotsu Express Bus bound for Zao/Murata from Bus Stop No. 34 and get off at the Togatta Onsen bus stop (about 70 minutes). It is about 2 minutes on foot from there.
By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Shiroishi IC and continue along National Route 4, then Prefectural Route 12 (Shiroishi-Kaminoyama Route) for about 20 minutes. Head towards Togatta Onsen Kami-no-Yu or Kotobuki-no-Yu (jointly-operated bathing facilities).

Nigoriyu-no-Yado Yumori Kimuraya
This hotel takes great pride in its hot spring baths which draw water from two different natural sources. There are six baths, including the Tenguiwa Bath, Kappa Bath, open-air baths, and baths that boast a scenic view of the area. Guests can also look forward to delicious, seasonal local cuisine.

Baden-ya Soho
This onsen yado (traditional Japanese-style inn with hot springs) is suitable for enjoying Zao's beautiful nature across the seasons. Guests can relieve their daily fatigue at the oriental therapy room and aesthetic salon. The amber-colored, weak alkaline spring water, constantly flowing directly from the hot spring source, leaves skin feeling smooth.

From JR Sendai Station: Take the express bus bound for Zao / Murata / Togatta Onsen and get off at Togatta Onsen. About 10 minutes on foot from there.
By car: Exit the Tohoku Expressway at Murata IC and continue along Prefectural Route 25 (Iwanuma-Zao Route) for about 10 minutes (10 km), then Prefectural Route 12 (Shiroishi-Kaminoyama Route) for about 10 minutes (10 km). Head towards Zao Ecoline, Eboshi Ski Resort.
Pension Donguri 2
